Good video of lock, we take pride of automatic assembly machine of lock from Xiamen Boaote Automation Technology Co., Ltd.
Add a cam for the middle of the lock put it on a bolt then nut tighten it down and and one bolt at end bit of glue and it a ten second job just turn it like a key 🤣🤣
Since it's easy for a burglar to snap a handle and gain access to a cylinder, do you think it would be a good idea to weld the outside handle to the door instead of letting it be fixed by screws? Provided that you can still change the cylinder when needed by removing the plate that's on the inside of the door and then removing the cylinder from the inside.
The handle itself is snapped rather than the bolts, they only do that to gain access to the barrel so they can snap it in half. The solution is to get a snap proof barrel that locks itself shut if it snaps
you don't know much about welding do you can't weld upvc or wood
@@karazor-el9596 well you can weld upvc as that’s how the panels are joined together but you can’t weld metal to plastic which is what you were getting at!
@@karazor-el9596 Of course you can weld UPVC. How do you think they are fabricated?
To the fitter who says his one wish is to get rid of all euro locks well that's nonsense because it's not going to happen, what he should have said is change them to 3-star locks such as yale platinum, abs, ATK and era fortress, then this problem disappears
My arse did he break that euro lock with a screw driver and open the door
Get an Abloy lock.
In America, people just kick the door in
and wake the entire house i know yanks are renowed for being dumb but seriously
In 2016, the Euro cylinder lock on my back door was snapped and the thieves managed to enter my home, they were disturbed b y my elderly mother going to the toilet and making a noise up stairs, so they made a hastyretreat empty handed. I live in a village 3 miles from Halifax, there was a white Ford Transit van caught on a neighbours CCTV camera, the van was later found abandoned in Bradford. I bought new unbreakable steel Euro locks for the front a nd back doors at £50 each, I also bought lockable boor jammers for the top and bottom of both doors. The brass Euro locks should be banned from sale in my opinion as they are too easy to break in my opinion. The door jammers are a worthwhile additional secuirity measure.
Brass Euro locks are good for interior doors. Unfortunately, most people don't see any difference between a good and a bad lock, and they can't think how a burglar thinks.
@@scorchedearth1451 I think it's more a case of most people don't know how unsecure these locks are! Until 20 minutes ago when i read online about a gang being jailed for using this method of entry to break in to houses i thought UPVC doors were secure!
Brexit 'buy UK' comedy show
You can have snap-resistant Euro cylinders. But given how often the guy says eUrO is the problem, I'm not surprised Brexit happened.
Why British people don't use cylinder defenders as -in the rest of Europe- in Europe? I mean, these and forget the language ua-cam.com/video/gq6sl-AC784/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ProtegeoTV
Thanks alot
9 years after this & these rubbish cheap locks are still being fitted on most properties
a well placed kick will by pass any lock
Yeah, like blurring the tool is going to stop criminls, good god
It's amazing.
If a guy admits to having burgled “thousands of homes” then he should be in prison for the rest of his life. I don’t care if he calls himself “reformed”. Just the sheer number of victims makes him a slimebag.
You can get Replacements that have a breaking point not so deep, so door remains locked
Not showing the process is a joke.
We've fitted thousands of anti snap locks and stopped countless burglaries in Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley & Rotherham
Its no wonder... a huge heroin increase will inevitably lead to more burglaries. Try tackling this rancid and parasitic issue
Scenes of Crime Officer who doesn't wear gloves?!
Yes, fit a decent quality lock - but fit the right length of barrel. ie don't leave it sticking out like the one at the end of the film! Why make it easy to get hold of and snap?
won't stop a well placed kick
I appreciate the spot on voice and the accent. Very nice.
If someone is breaking in, they don't care about damage , those people were serious about a stronger lock but there entire door is glass, break glass, walk in, 2 seconds!!!!!
Laminated glass will prevent this, most thief's will run as soon as they seen laminated glass, it takes away to long to get in,far too noisy too.
mossberg 500
"mumble mumble just snap lock" Einstein level here.
Use high quality defenders like the continental Europeans, you lazy! Even a cheap vulnerable cylinder is protected with stuff like this: ua-cam.com/video/X2ANS07jPOc/v-deo.html
they replaced it with a dimple lock. don't make much difference. I can pick a a dimple lock in a minute or less and I ain't even a burglar
This is 2012 . where are we now ANY UPDATES
I answered your question to bootsamou in this same comments section
He used a locking plier to break the cylinder.
Well thanks a bunch!!! Not going to tell us what locks are better then? Big help that 😣
Go to your locksmith and tell them you would like a better quality lock. I'm from the US, so don't know UK brands. The ones they show are flimsy as hell. Get a nice, solid door and a doorknob AND deadbolt lock.
Kate Skochko I have a solid door and a five point locking system. I don’t want to pay someone hundreds of £’s to give me their opinion it would have been nice to get a pointer here. Ive researched myself. A good brand here is yale and I’ve opted for the yale platinum ts007. Looks like a great lock so should be more secure once thats fitted. I do live in a nice area in Scotland though and don’t even know anyone who has ever been broken into...but better safe than sorry 🥴👍🏻
Those cylinders can be used but on internal doors but not exterior doors.
Some front door locks actually have surprisingly manual dial for lock on inside of door no idea why it's not key both sides
5:28 Ouch
If that was 42 seconds why not just film real time instead of editing it? Additionally why not simply have the lock facia in a flush recess into the door?
Its companies like these plugging for more work showing this sort shit off thats the problem
Public awareness is needed so people can realize that they might have a reinforced door with a shitty Chinese lock fitted.
stick to good old wooden door
It has it's pros but also cons. They are often not locked properly by the resident who gets complacent. The upvc forces everyone to lock all parts of the door. But ironacly the customer needs to use a goo lock or the door will is no good.
Believe or not, I work at a well known tool shop, 100s across the country. Had a break in attempt last night they snapped lock they didn't get in as there was other shutter's in place, but the best thing is we sell anti snap locks and for some reason wasn't used on door, it didn't make sense for someone aware of the problem, not to do anything.
there's no such thing as an anti snap lock
WOW some one came out to finger print. Must be years ago that this was filmed.
Thats when policemen were respected
After watching this I replaced a faulty lock with a high security lock. Anti snap, anti drill ect. But it cost me £55. Need to replace others to these 3 star locks. But I am on benefits and can't afford it. It would cost me over £200. Need to bring the price down.
Get normal, decent, but not hugely expensive locks. Wood door, doorknob and deadbolt. They're hyping this up.
This is 2012.... Any further news on British Standard locks ?
Use defenders ua-cam.com/video/X2ANS07jPOc/v-deo.html
An added deadbolt with integrated alarm and your door will be invulnerable even to pry bars, excuse the Spanish language, just watch the images ua-cam.com/video/Ki9eztPrrgo/v-deo.html
I hate these horrible pvc doors.... What was wrong with a good proper Yale & a 5-lever Chubb like we used to have?
Too much hassle to mortice them and the muti point lock is harder to kick in and sadly most people who used a five lever lock never used it so the door was only held closed by the low security latch Wich also made it easy to slip the latch. The wooden doors also warped. I get you though...it had advantages.
These doors are really surprising. I locksmith in the states, and the doors they show, as well as the locks, aren't even good enough to keep on your bedroom closet to hide the Christmas presents from the kids!
@@kskochko "in the states" masterlock with 4 pin keys is the king(and ofc no security pins) so anyone can open them with paper clip...
4:02 haha sure
One more reason the UK left the EU.
Death to the Weakling, Wealth to the Strong LOL.. How does the Brexit relate to some door locks?
XD
@@4ever242 the name is euro cylinder....euro...
@@BD90.. And what? You mean that "british standard locks" are better? Lol
@@4ever242 not necessarily better. I am saying euro locks have Europe in the name. That is why the Brits might not want to use them as they don't want to be part of the EU. It doesn't really matter and is not related to brexit at all.
Khan. Is she Mongol?
Its a very old pakistani an Indian name that has its roots to turks an mongols
Crap video if your not going to show what types of locks are good and which are bad, no reason for a video then
I got a Dom Diamond cylinder protected with an Inn Pro Slippery defender, maybe you can find easier a Disec Kripton defender. In the UK houses don't have defenders so their cylinders use to be exposed to thieves, which is a big mistake, to avoid that risk premium British high-security cylinders have a controlled fracture like the Yale Platinium. Good models must be anti-fracture or snap, anti-extraction of the inner rotor, anti-bumping, anti-drill and anti-impressioning. Watch this video in Spanish although the locksmith guy is Colombian he works in my country, forget the language and choose one of these models of cylinders, they are the top, greetings from Spain: ua-cam.com/video/Jv-fe_O3GpI/v-deo.html and also a review of the most recommended but less expensive ua-cam.com/video/ZFmPxCh9JTo/v-deo.html. Finally, this is a good defender to avoid broken cylinders: ua-cam.com/video/HkXQegexENg/v-deo.html
It’s about time the composite door companies started fitting mortised five levers again
